CEO's Holiday Message, December 2011

December 7^th, 2011 marks the 34^th anniversary of ECFML (trading under ECGC), and also the 21^st anniversary of Caricom Rice Mills Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary located in Guyana.

We have already moved into the last quarter of 2011 and will soon be hearing those joyous Christmas Carols…that part of our rich Caribbean culture that we so look forward to.

At ECGC, we take things very personal. Service and quality are very important when it comes to our brands/products. We craft and nurture the development and marketing of our brands, for it is the details that matter, and which make the difference. As CEO, I take personal interest in anything and everything that affect our brands. This culture is the cornerstone of ECGC’s success, and we will continue to provide you with quality products/brands and services.

ECGC has not forgotten its responsibility as a social partner in this regional community. To be launched soon is the”ECGC FOUNDATION”, the brain child of the CEO. What is this foundation about? Its aim and objective is to provide social/medical assistance to the forgotten- our elderly, who would have made their contribution towards National and Regional development in some way or the other, some time during their able life.

Although the Region is confronted by a myriad of negative global imperatives and challenges which threatens the social and economic fabric of our society, the resilient and compassionate nature of our people places us second to none. This is evident by the decision of ECGC to establish an integrated Poultry Processing Plant; the first in the OECS. As a responsible corporate citizen, we wish to acknowledge that this new venture will contribute to the Nation’s and Region’s GDP, assist in the alleviation of rural poverty and unemployment and also provide food security for our people. As we travel this important journey of 'nation building', we look forward to your usual support.

Serving this Region with quality products and services for over 34 years is indeed a milestone, and we truly appreciate your support with every step. The people of this Caribbean Community are always proud of the products we produce; and I must confess that this is a warm and exciting feeling!

As we close the final chapter of 2011, and look forward to embracing the challenging economic landscape of 2012; let us, as one Caribbean Community, continue to pray to the Almighty for Regional Unification.

May the good Lord continue to bless us all, and I wish each and everyone a wonderful Christmas.
